Starting next week I plan on posting “Wordless Wednesdays”, but today I want to share a few things that we learned. We read a book called God Speaks Numanggang which told the story of a missionary family that lived overseas for 30 years translating the Bible into the Numanggang language. We talked about how blessed we are in America to have so many Bibles available in English! Brendan read a few pages from the Maps and Globes book and we reviewed the compass rose. We headed outside for Science and had to make observations about our “backyard habitat”. I had to prompt the kids a few times to really stop, look, and listen to the nature around them (they are used to seeing things on a screen – LOL). I think it’ll get better with practice. We went on a scavenger hunt around the yard and found some cool things like spiders, mosquito larvea in the bird bath, moth wings, etc. It was amazing how many discoveries we could make in our own small back yard. God is awesome! After a quick snack, the kids worked through their workboxes and we were done before 12:00!
Verse of the day:
