Today was different…we did some schoolwork at home and some in a waiting room at the doctor’s office. Justin had to have a colonoscopy this morning due to family history. Thankfully, everything checked out just fine and he won’t have to have another one until he’s 45! That’s another benefit of home schooling – the kids get to experience “real life” with its ups and downs, good days, and poopy days – HEE, HEE :)!!!
We continued learning about Mexico, deserts (did you know that Antartica is actually a desert since it recieves less than 10 inches of rain per year ???), and painted the sun clay faces that were started last week. We also learned about the people of Haiti and how some of the population believes in voodoo and spiritism. The kids helped me make a poster to help as a reminder to pray for the people of Mexico.
Brendan and Ryan had their third guitar lesson and are geting better and better! The teacher told the kids that they would be participating in a recital in a few months and both boys looked at me with looks of panic. Oops…did I forget to mention that part :)? At least they get to play with a group (3 other students). I told them that they will practice their recital pieces so much that they’ll be able to play the song in their sleep!
Verse of the Day: But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
