Bonjour and welcome to France!!!

Welcome to 2012…we have landed in France!  We enjoyed Christmas break and had fun spending time with family and friends, eating lots of good food, giving and receiving gifts, going to the movies, playing games, and most importantly celebrating the birth of Christ.  Now it’s time to get back to work!

The boys used their passports to cross the border in to France.  We found France on the map and globe, colored the flag, listened to the national anthem, and learned a few basic facts about the country.

For Bible, we reviewed and copied our new Bible verse.  I read aloud from Jotham’s Journey while the kids colored their John 3:16 posters (we got behind on our book, but we’re going to finish though even though Christmas is over).

For science, we learned about how animals defend themselves from predators (flight, trickery, or fight).  Brendan and Ryan had to find pictures of different animals and then identify how those particular animals defend/protect themselves from predators.

Workboxes included math, spelling, language arts, creative thinking, reading, geography, and handwriting.  Guitar went great today – we only have three weeks until the first recital!  I’m thankful that our first day back went smoothly :)!

Verse of the Day:  You set all the boundaries of the earth.  You made summer and winter.  Psalm 74:17
