India!

We are so excited about our newest trip to the country of India :)!  Brendan and Ryan listened to some traditional Indian music, found India on the globe and map, and checked out all of our cool library books that we’ll be reading over the next two weeks.  They colored their John 3:16/flag  pages while we went over some basic information about India and Hinduism. 

Did you know that there are over 1 million Hindu gods???  The Hindu people ring bells t”o wake their gods and goddesses”, wash them, offer food to them, and then pray to them hoping that their gods can hear them.  We talked about how our God always listens to us when we pray and how He never sleeps!   It’s so sweet to see Brendan and Ryan affected by how many people are “lost”.  Brendan said “it’s so sad Mom…all of those peope are worshipping fake gods and are going to spend eternity in hell.”  I love that we get the opportunity to talk about our faith and how we need to share God’s love with people who don’t know the Truth!

We reviewed the Lord’s Prayer and the boys wrote the first section of it from dictation.  They also started learning about India and the surrounding countries by coloring and labeling maps.  We continued reading Amy Carmichael and she arrived in India today also :).  I love how My Father’s World ties all of the subjects that we’re studying together!  We watched a fun video about going to school in India while we ate lunch.  Brendan and Ryan had guitar lessons and are now outside enjoying the beautiful weather!  It’s been a great Monday!
