Public school started today and boy, was I glad that we didn’t have to wake up at the break of dawn and catch the bus! I LOVE the flexibility of school at home :)! We read about Noah and his family as they finally got off the ark and built an alter to thank God for keeping them safe. We reviewed how God gave us the rainbow as a reminder of His promise to never flood the whole earth again. Our Greek word for the week is photos, which means “light”. We learned a neat way to draw a map of the Bible lands that we’ll be studying this year. There’s a story that goes along with the drawing to help us remember and the boys did great! We’ll be practicing a few more times this week until they can draw the map and identify the major bodies of water independently. We are taking a break from learning a Bible verse for the next few weeks, and will be memorizing all the books of the Old Testament. Brendan and Ryan also covered science, math, English, and their workboxes. Now that all of their schoolwork is done, they are “modifying” their Nerf guns – uh, oh :)!!!! In a little bit, we’re heading to Office Max (to stock up on more .25 cent boxes of colored pencils), the library, and Stevie B’s for dinner with our homeschool support group – another busy, but FUN day!
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Genesis 9: 12-13
