What did you say???

We read about the Tower of Babel this morning and learned how God confused the languages of the people which caused them to disperse and spread out over the earth.  We also learned about Rosh Hashana which is the celebreation of the Jewish New Year.  We will celebrate with a special dinner next week, but the boys did go ahead and make their shofars…NOT a quiet craft :)!  We continued learning the books of the Old Testament, read another chapter in The Tanglewoods’ Secret ( learned how authors sometimes use symbolism), and had our usual prayertime.  Ryan’s science was FUN today!  Our first experiment involved breaking wintergreen Lifesavers in the dark.  Because of the energy released from the sugar, you will see a brief, faint glow when you break the candy with pliers – very cool!!!  Our second experiment involved using a cup of water and several objects to learn about refraction (the bending of light).  Both kids had a positive attitude today, worked diligently, and most important of all…had fun learning!  It’s been a good day!

  1. Hi! I am stopping by from the MFW Blogroll and co-hosting the My Father’s World Homeschool Highlights this school year with Monica @ DiscoverTheirGifts. This is where MFW families connect weekly, or as often as you like, to share what we are doing in our schools. The first one is September 8, the info is on my blog. I hope you join us!

    ps: Love the shofar!

  2. Hello everybody!

    Keep up the good work!
