Back in the Swing of Things!

Well, we made it through our first full day back after Christmas vacation.  The boys picked our first family to pray for from our “prayer pocket” and the Shays are lucky number one!  During Bible time, we learned why God made the Israelites wander through the desert for 4o years (a consequence of their disobedience)…it was not because they were lost :)!  For our memory work, we will be learning the 23rd Psalm. Normally, we memorize our verses from the NIV (New International Version), but this time we will be memorizing the KJV (King James Version) since it is the most commonly used.  The Greek word for the week is pyro, which means “fire”.  I knew that Brendan and Ryan would love this one – LOL!  During art, we continued our study of the color wheel and practiced using complimentary colors.  Brendan covered how to calculate the mechanical advantage of a screw for his science lesson and Ryan learned about the distance between the planets in our solar system (Ryan’s was definitely easier to understand 🙂 ).

  1. Thanks for the prayers! You are so sweet. Please include a few prayers for PE since we start back up tomorrow. 🙂

  2. Well, you are all off to a good start in 2013! I’m so proud of my grandsons for working real hard in school. You’re getting so smart! 🙂 And, Teacher Amy, you’re doing a fantastic job teaching my smart grandsons!

    Keep up the good work!

    Love you all so much,
    Grammy
