The Best Adventure!

This morning we read about the death of Moses and how Joshua was given the huge responsibilty of leading the Israelites into the promised land.  Over and over again, God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous.  He says, “do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”  (Joshua 1:9).

I was reading from The Message last night and these verses jumped out at me:  “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.  Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.  For the Lord is your life…”  Wow!  When we give our lives to Christ, he gives us the gift of eternal life and that is awesome.  But, He also has plans for our life here on earth and wants to lead us on a great adventure.  Now, most likely our adventure won’t be as “large” as leading thousands of people into a new land, but we can have great influence on those that God has placed in our path.  He wants us to “choose life” and choose to go on an adventure with Him!  That does not mean that things will always be easy, just as Joshua’s journey wasn’t always easy.  But, God promises to be with us always…wherever we go!  I am so thankful for this journey of homeschooling!  It is an adventure that I never thought I’d be part of, but God’s plans are so much bigger than our plans.  Where is God leading you?  Get ready for the ride of your life :)!

I was looking back through some of my old posts this afternoon and came across this one from 4 years ago. It’s so much fun to look back at how much the boys have grown and how homeschooling truly has been “The Best Adventure” for our family!

  2. Isn’t it encouraging to look back and see what God has done and how He has grown our family? I love your post!

  3. My, how the boys have grown! They are growing into wonderful young men, with kind, generous, thoughtful, caring hearts and are very capable, responsible and talented!

Thank you for setting a good example as parents and for bringing them up in a Christian home! They know and love Jesus because you showed them the way!

    Love you all so much,
    Grammy

  4. I totally agree with you! Homeschooling has been an amazing adventure for me and my family.

  5. In a way, as homeschool bloggers, we try to help lead other homeschool moms in the homeschooling adventure.
