Happy Thanksgiving Break!

I didn’t realize that our county’s public schools were out today…oops!  I was a “mean” mom and made the kids do a small amount of schoolwork so we could stay on schedule 😉 .  We had fun creating a Thanksgiving Mad Lib, learned about the fall of Rome and the Germanic tribes that invaded during that time period, read another chapter in Twice Freed, finished our second Latin word of the week, worked on a scripture memory activity, and Brendan had a science experiment to finish.  Now it’s time to do some baking and enjoy time with my family!

I HOPE THAT EVERYBODY HAS A WONDERFUL AND SAFE THANKSGIVING!!!

Christmas Open House:

Net and her husband Phil

Hello, dear friends and customers of Net’s Art,

Christmas is just around the corner and before the hussle and bussle that often accompanies it, we want you to come to our OPEN HOUSE NEXT SUNDAY, DECEMBER 1 FROM 1:00 UNTIL 6:00 P.M.

You’ll have the opportunity to purchase our illustrated Scripture products, sample some delicious treats and visit with old friends and new.  You’re welcome to invite others to come with you to

417 Wallingham Drive in Otterdale subdivision.

We’re located just off Route 60–Midlothian Turnpike–and just west of Sycamore Square.  If you take Route 288 and exit east into Midlothian, stay in the far right lane and turn at the signal across from Dominion Power on Otterdale Woods Road, then right at the stop sign, left at the entrance to the subdivision.  Wallingham Drive is the second right and we’re the second house, a brick and frame tri-level with a large magnolia tree in the front yard.  If you get lost, call me at (804) 337-1889.

We haven’t seen some of you in far too long so it would be a Christmas treat to get to see you and share stories.  Come whether you purchase anything or just allow us to see your dear faces.

If you can’t come, know that we wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS  as we celebrate the birth of Christ with grateful hearts.

 Looking forward to seeing you,

Net and Phil Graham

Field Trip Friday!

I made a last minute decision this morning to take a quick field trip to the Science Museum of Virginia.  We are actually a few days ahead of  our “planned” schedule, so I figured it was ok to take a break 🙂 .  We will have school Monday-Wednesday next week and then enjoy a small Thanksgiving vacation.

I’ve been seeing a few notices here and there about HEAV’s 2014 Convention – WOO, HOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

2014 HEAV Convention

Mark your calendars right now – June 5-7, 2014!    If you have never been, you have got to go to this convention….it will change your life!  I’ll be updating regularly as more information is released.

When In Rome…Do As The Romans Do :) :

We held a Roman feast tonight to celebrate all that we have been learning and it was sooooo much fun!  All the family members were good sports and even agreed to dress in togas 🙂 . We lounged around our coffee dining table, ate with our fingers, and even got to through our chicken bones on the floor!  Brendan and Ryan shared some of the things that they’ve learned about ancient Rome and we all had a nice time just being together.

I had been tempted to skip the meal since I did a smaller version for the boys on the first day of school (and these special meals can be a lot of work), but I’m glad that we did it.  These are the memories that will last a lifetime!
