I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! The weather was BEAUTIFUL here in Virginia! After celebrating our risen Savior at church, we went on a family picnic. The kids had fun fishing (even catching a few using JELLY BEANS for bait!), playing ball, and the younger ones enjoyed an egg hunt.
I love making memories like these and am thankful beyond belief for my family and the time we get to share together!
Ryan and I went to our annual homeschool egg hunt this afternoon and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was perfect! Brendan chose to stay home and take his tennis lesson with Pappy and Ryan didn’t want to hunt for eggs…they’re growing up too fast for this mama 😦 !!! Ryan did get to find a few extra eggs and he had lots of fun with his friends. Plus, Brendan got some one-on-one time with his grandfather, so I can’t complain.
The kids had fun hanging out and playing, doing the egg hunt, learning about the resurrection, and eating lots of snacks. Our group is collecting money to buy diapers, wipes, etc. for the homeless that will be staying at our church in the fall so each family got to take home a baby bottle to use as a bank. I love our homeschool group so much and am so thankful that our family gets the opportunity to serve others, even if it’s just a small donation.
School is going fine and we’re down to our last seven weeks…there’s light at the end of the tunnel 🙂 !!!!!
I hope that everybody has a wonderful Easter!
We got to spend the whole afternoon with our wonderful neighbors yesterday hunting for Easter eggs (MORE candy – aaughhh!), catching up, eating dinner together, playing laser tag, and making s’mores. The kids ran non-stop for hours, while the adults sat and visited. Everyone had a great time!
We absolutely LOVE our neighbors!!! It’s so comforting to be surrounded by people who you know are always willing to help and share life with you. What’s really precious is seeing the relationships that our kids have with each other…most of them have grown up together over the last 10 1/2 years. Some have gone from learning to ride bikes, to driving, to even leaving for college already. I hope that we’ll be able to stay in touch for many years to come as our kids grow up and start their own lives and I’m thankful for the times that we have had together. I know these are memories that will last a lifetime!
I am LOVING this beautiful spring weather! This afternoon the boys and I went to my parents’ house to celebrate Easter and my dad’s birthday. The kids were so excited to hunt for eggs! Brendan even agreed to “play along” since it was just family 🙂 …I don’t think you’re ever to old to have fun! I’m very thankful for my family and for the wonderful memories that we are creating together – thank you Grammy and Pappy for being fantastic grandparents – we love you!!!
